    Job Responsibilities

    In this position, you'll be providing radiological services in a brand new ASC providing out-patient pain management surgical procedures.  This position is every Tuesday through Friday, 8 hours/day, and is eligible for the following benefits:

    The Radiology Technologist is responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.


    Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Actively participates in developing departmental patient care programs, policies and procedures that describe how patients’ radiology care needs or patient populations receiving radiology care are assessed, evaluated and met.
    • Conduct all radiographic examinations using portable X-Ray equipment.
    • Position patients to obtain proper radiographic images.
    • Set controls on radiographic control panels according to prescribed specifications and techniques required for specific examinations.
    • Actively participates in implementing an effective ongoing program to measure and improve the quality of radiology care delivered to patients.
    • Actively participates on committees, meetings and other activities to assist in the development of staff, with the purpose of improved patient outcomes.
    • Measure patients to determine correct exposure.
    • Set up, calibrate, and monitor the operation of radiographic equipment.
    • Position patients for fluoroscopic procedures.
    • Participates in department CQI programs, collects CQI data as assigned.


    Position Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Certificate from College or Technical School preferred.
    • ARRT (R) required.
    • CPR Certification required.
    • State License required, if applicable.
    • A minimum of six months related experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ambulatory Surgical Center experience preferred.
    • Pain Management experience preferred.
    • Local travel is required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. May be exposed to radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
    • More than 50% of the time:
      • Sit, stand, walk.
      • Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.
      • See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.
    • Less than 50% of the time:
      • Stoop, kneel or crawl.
      • Climb and balance.
      • Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
