Job Responsibilities

Alliance Radiology has rapidly grown over the past 30 years by providing radiology service line solutions, outpatient center management services, and mobile radiology solutions (Per Diem, PT, and FT MRI, PET/CT, CT).

 

The MRI Technologist Trainee learns the safety, customer service skills, documentation and operation of MRI through on-the-job training under the direction of an MRI registered technologist.

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts pre-screening of all personnel before entering the magnet room to ensure their safety.
  • Scans and documents patients under the direction of an MRI registered technologist to meet all customer requirements.
  • Completes all documentation and paperwork for each patient to ensure all customer, Alliance policy and Joint Commission requirements are met.
  • Maintains current credentials required to work as an MRI technologist.

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred or equivalent experience. Successful completion of a Radiology School required.
  • ARRT (R) or (MR) and state license required, if applicable. [Or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT].
  • CPR certification required.
  • As applicable, valid state driver’s license required.
  • Successful completion of a Radiology School required.
  • Completes the provided Medical Imaging Consultants, Inc. (MIC) home-study courses; "MRI Cross trainer and MRI Registry Review" and documents all exams scanned to meet the requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in order to sit for their MRI Advanced National Registry Exam.
  • Local travel may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. The employee will be exposed to a strong magnetic field. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
  • More than 50% of the time:
    • Sit, stand, walk.
    • Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.
    • See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.
  • Less than 50% of the time:
    • Stoop, kneel or crawl.
    • Climb and balance.
    • Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
